Chef Hermann started his first apprenticeship as a pastry chef when he was 14. Two years later upon graduation, he was accepted into the prestigious Hotel Sacher in Vienna for his chef's apprenticeship. The old master chefs of Europe, hard taskmasters, trained him. Three years later he was awarded his chef certificate.
Since that day Chef Hermann used his culinary skills to travel the world and has worked in and headed kitchens in the Far East, the Caribbean Islands, England, and the United States.
When he decided to open a modest restaurant in northern Michigan, his goal was to 'break even', enjoy the up north lifestyle and raise a family. But the whole state of Michigan embraced Hermann 's European Cafe, making it a destination restaurant in a location not known for its fine dinning.
Chef Hermann can provide any or all of the following services:
